Our story
I opened Black Iris in 2019 after eight years working the chair in busier shops. I wanted somewhere quiet, where a four-hour sitting doesn't happen in a shop window with a queue behind it.
We take on a small number of custom pieces each week. That means a consultation first, a drawing you see before the day, and as long as the piece needs. It also means we're usually booked a couple of months out, so get in touch earlier than you think.
The studio is upstairs on Sackville Road, buzzer marked Black Iris. Over 18s only, ID on the day, no exceptions.
